History
Coating Place was founded in 1976 by Harlan
Hall after purchasing the formulation development intellectual
property and laboratory equipment of the Wurster Coating Labs
from WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation). The Wurster
coating lab equipment was relocated to Verona, Wisconsin and
Coating Place, Incorporated started business by offering
formulation development and contract manufacturing of Wurster
Fluid Bed Coated products. From those humble beginnings Coating
Place has grown to the pharmaceutical industry’s
preeminent fluid bed formulation development service and
industry leading pharmaceutical GMP contract manufacturing
organization. Coating Place has a modern 175,000 square foot
pharmaceutical GMP facility that contains four R&D equipment
suites and 12 commercial manufacturing production lines with
three different sizes of coating units that are linear scalable
between 90 liter, 300 liter, and 600 liter batch sizes.
Facilities also include a state-of-the-art Quality Control
Laboratory capable of performing analytical methods development
and full compendial testing in support of R&D and contract
manufacturing operations.
The company is capable of performing development
and manufacturing of controlled release, sustained release, delayed
release, enteric release and taste masked products for nutritional, OTC
(Over The Counter), Rx prescription
and schedule II – V controlled substance product applications. Recent
additions to the company have expanded the scope of our process
capabilities to include powder densification, sizing and capsule filling
capabilities. Our employees continue to exhibit the same innovative
spirit and mid-west work ethic of Dr. Dale Wurster today within Coating
Place, Inc.
Our
Mission
Our mission at Coating Place, Inc. is to consistently provide
customers with the highest quality Wurster fluid bed
encapsulation research and contract manufacturing services.
