Wurster
technology transfer
Wurster Fluid Bed coating technology
originated at the University of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation
(WARF). Dr. Dale E. Wurster of WARF was granted patents related to the
process in the 1950s and 1960s. WARF researchers subsequently licensed
this technology in 1976 and founded Coating Place, Inc. Coating Place
continued to focus efforts on Wurster fluid bed coating technology and
consultation services.
Coating Place
carries on the innovative tradition of the WARF organization. Wurster
equipment used in its facility is built to specifications based on designs
from original Wurster patents and classified by FDA Guidance as equivalent
to commercially available equipment. Years of Wurster coating experience
dating back to 1971 involving the most extensive range of applications
imaginable provides Coating Place with a unique knowledge base that has
allowed the company to improve and optimize systems for peak performance
and the broadest range of application. Current equipment and facility
design incorporates these systems. These tools and the support resources
at Coating Place, provide the most comprehensive range of Wurster service
and application in the industry.
Wurster Coating Application Transfer
With the experience and extensive background
in Wurster fluid bed coating technology, Coating Place has the technology
base to handle virtually any Wurster (bottom spray) fluid bed coating
application including those performed on alternative Wurster equipment.
Frequently, it can be done more efficiently and at a lower cost on Coating
Place equipment.
Personnel are prepared to facilitate process technology transfer to
Coating Place from other locations and alternative equipment. With key
parameters or concerns of the application identified and perhaps one or
more test runs to optimize process parameters, a process validation
protocol can be generated to initiate the transfer. After successful
execution of requirements defined in the protocol, results are summarized
in a process validation report. The technology transfer is complete upon
meeting the acceptance criteria defined in the protocol. Coating Place
staff is prepared to write proposals, master batch records, protocols, and
reports required in the transfer process. From start to finish Coating
Place can perform the technology transfer for your product.
Coating Place is equipped with an internal GMP Analytical Support
Laboratory and support staff to generate required analytical data for
process technology transfers.
